Water colors....

Look at this cutie pie!! This layout is about when my god-daughter Sadie was born! I am loving this layout because of the technique I tried on here. I stamped the flowers in staz-on ink and then messily painted them with water color paints. I love love love how this turned out. At first I was going to color in the lines but I really like the messy look. It makes it look more like its water colored to me.

The sticker dilema....

Hey hey hey. I'm here to share some more fun layouts with you! This is a fun quick one I threw together using some of my new Amy Tan supplies. It's me and my baby Kona!

This next layout I made after being inspired by this layout I have pinned on my pinterest. This layout also brought out a conversation between me and bestie on mixing old and new supplies and mixing name brand products and some cheaper ones. Some of the stickers and embellishments on this layout date back to 2009. Some are also from the sticker sneeze section at the store. For me its really important to mix in my old supplies with my new. As I have said before we pay money and hold onto to things because we love them, so seeing them finally on a page makes me super happy. With the stickers it brought up the point that sometimes walking down the sticker aisle at the store can make you feel like you are back in your sticker sneeze era. My thoughts are this. Sure some of those stickers can be over whelming and not your style but look beyond that. Its not necessary to only use name brand products all the time. There can be some super fabulous stickers at the store if you can get past the idea that stickers are a thing of the past. I love stickers and I always really take my time in that aisle to really dig out the cute ones and really think about how I can layer them and mix them in with my current name brand embellishments. This layout below is about a 50 50 mix of old and new, and store stickers and name brand stickers.

Layout Video 2

Hello guys,
I'm back with another video. It was a spur of the moment video as I explain in the beginning. It worked out well though. I still had the two photos left over from the first layout video and all the supplies also. And....Who else saw that Glitter girl is back???? What???? It's a good thing I'm not writing this on the day I actually found that out, cause I was overly emotional hahaha. Joking. Not joking. Glitter girl is just one of those things that makes me really really happy! I have seen every single video. So while I'm no glitter girl, I hope you enjoy my own videos. I enjoy making them and I hope they bring you some scrappy joy also.

New year, new organization...

Hello, hello, hello.

I have been wanting to figure out a new way to store my scrap paper for awhile now. Over the years I have tried many ways. Bins, baskets, drawers etc. and nothing has quite worked for me. I'm trying a new bin now and I really hope it works since my current paper scrap storage is not working. At all.

I just have way too many scraps. How can I throw them away either. Each one so pretty. We pay good money for these papers right. I want to use as much of the sheet as I can. I know I'm not the only one out there like that right?

So I don't know if you all have seen but Michaels has new organization line out. Its very cute and in all my favorite colors. I bought a couple pieces from it over the holdidays. Their new line is called Cre8ted Space. I would suggest checking it out to you all.

So one of the things I got was a giant canvas basket. I choose this one for it's sturdiness as paper is heavy and for its size so I can hold 12x12 and larger.

Once I got all my papers in i didn't want them to fall and curve forward so I added in some 12x12 paper pads and also my little ceramic baskets that hold all my project life cards. (The baskets are from Anthropology I believe) Now I think I am done. I really like how it turned out and that all my scraps are in a nice accessible spot and not falling out of and getting curled up in that broken plastic bucket I was using.

Are you changing the ways you organize in the new year?

First layouts of the year

Hey guys.

I'm back.

Did you think I would be? I know alot of people make resolutions and what not in the new year and don't always stick to them, However blogging is one I would really like to stick too. That and creating also.

So this first full week in January I have been busy scrapping. Mostly because it finally got cold here. Below 0 cold. And the best thing to do when its that cold outside is stay inside put on a movie and scrap.

I am currently working on the second half of my 2013 album so these photos are a couple years old. I'm on June right now. I do sometimes scrap out of order but i really want to work on this album in order to make sure I don't leave anything out.

So here are the 3 layouts I have done so far. Two from my birthday weekend and one of sweet baby Kona. I really hope you like them and are feeling inspired to scrap also.
layout
I stuck to my favorite color theme with this layout of teal or mint type colors ans pink but I also added in some yellow with this one. This layout is all about how Valdo took me to the waterpark for my birthday because it's my favorite thing and even though he doesn't like to go he ended up having a good time.
layout
This layout I went with some brighter colors to help with the mexican theme in the photo. I love how this turned out and I used up alot of stickers from older lines I still have. I love this. I love using up older product! I can't bear to throw them away even though some of 5 and 6 years old now. they are still cute product right?! This restaurant El Loros is one of our favorite places and we know the staff there. Valdo is friends with many of them. They always like when we go in on our birthdays and they can make us where the hat and sing and everything. Its always such a good time.
layout
This layout is quite possibly my favorite so far! I love it! I used light mint green paper and put that gorgeous vellum from studio calico on top. Again that vellum was so pretty to me I have hoarded it for a long time. To see it finally on a layout makes me so happy. I cute all the hearts by hand and you can even see where I folded some of them to cut them, that doesnt bother me at all. I like when things look hand made. It adds some character to this layout I think. And again using my tried and true color combo for this one. I just don't see my self ever getting sick of these colors.

So there you have it my first 3 layouts of the year. I hope you like them.

I hope you are scrapping!

I hope you are being creative in some form and enjoying the start of 2016. Stay tuned for more posts soon.
