A sad day in the world

yesterday on june 25th 2009 a strand of our cultural dna was lost. the king of pop himself Mr. Michael Jackson passed on. Miss Farrah Fawcett Lost her ongoing battle with cancer. Now I understand that my blog is a scrapbooking blog, But I will not let this moment in history go without documenting it. AS with 911 this will be another moment for my generation and I will forever remember where I was when I heard these tragic stories.
This morning I happen to be driving my dads truck to work and the radio was on a country staition but beat it was on. I caouldn't figure out what was going on. I turned the staiton to my regular staiton and there I heard it over the waves, The one and only King of Pop is dead. Goose bumps covered my arms. I was in disbelief as was I when I heard about 911. You get such bad news you are just in shock, you cannot believe it.
All morning I have been listening to people comment on how we should not feel bad, he was a nut and a bad man. I have this to say to you: Today is not the day for that, no matter when demons Michael Jackson had in his life he is and always will be an Icon in this world. He has forever changed and Influenced This world in many ways and you cannot deny Him that. With that said, I have many fond memories growing up to his music. I was in love with it. Me and my cousin would dance to thriller for hours.
I think I am getting the feeling of what it was like when elvis died. I just feel like we have lost an important piece to the world, a piece of history is gone now. I am so sad. You may be thinking he was a celebrity you did not even know, how can you be so sad? But he is in our lives everyday. For because of him music and dance are what they are today! He was a pioneer in the industry, A trendsetter and should forever be honored for these contributions.

The origional Charlies Angel. She paved the world with Her beautiful golden feathered locks, and her short shorts. She was a wonderful person and actress.

  1. I too cannot believe Michael Jackson has passed away. I heard about Farrah Faucet being ill. But Michael Jackson....There are fans everywhere paying tribute. (Including the County Coroner which is a couple of blocks away from where I work. I just cannot believe it!
