Hi everyone, Marlene here to share a fun and easy tutorial on how to make your own cute flower embellishment for next to nothing!
Every morning I check out all my favorite blogs and I was at Kandee Johnson’s blog (http://www.kandeej.com/) and she had a picture of her bath sponge which was all unraveled and hanging in her shower.  That instantly inspired me and I thought, oh I could definitely make something with an unraveled bath sponge LOL
All these supplies can be easily found in your own home or in the dollar store.  Let’s get started…

Supplies
1 medium size binder ring
1 small sponge bath
1 washcloth

1-Take your bath sponge and cut the binding.

2-Next cut your bath sponge into 10 strips.

3-Tie those strips onto your binder ring.  I used 10 strips but you can use as many or as little strips as you’d like.  The more you use the fluffier it’ll look.

4-Now you have to make two sized flowers out of your washcloth.  One flower should be bigger then the other.  I took a marker and drew a flower on my washcloth and then cut out the flowers. If you don’t want to free hand it, you could use the flower template attached.

5-Once you have those flowers cut, it’s on to cut out the lollipop flower.  All you have to do is cut a large circle from the washcloth, and then you will continue to cut in a circular fashion.  Once you have it cut out, add some glue to the inside piece and start twisting it in, applying more glue as you go along until you reach the end.

6-Before you assemble all the parts, you can mist your flowers with some alcohol sprays or inks or you can leave them plain, it’s up to you.  For my flower, I misted the washcloth flowers and dried them with my heat gun.

7-Now to assemble, take your bath sponge ring and apply glue to the rim of the ring.  Then take your largest cut flower and place it onto the ring.  Next, take the smaller flower and glue it down on top of the larger flower.  Remember to not lay it down exactly on top of the other flower, but to rotate it a little so the petals fan out. Once you got that on, glue on your lollipop flower.  You can add some gems or pearls to the center of your lollipop flower if you’d like.

And that’s it; you have a cute flower embellishment for your projects!  I’m sure there are other materials that you could use that are lying around your house besides bath sponges and washcloths.  Just think outside of the box and have fun being adventurous.

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial.  Happy flower making!!!
