Comtinuing the trip layouts

project 52
So right when we think we might lose the storm if we head into the mountains. Nope. It met us there in full fury. Dropping so much hail on us it looked like snow in Minnesota. People were slipping all over the road, pulled over, general chaos on the road. I remember texting Renee and telling her about it and how we pushed through like it was nothing. A little ice would never slow down a Minnesotan! LOL! We did really feel bad for these guys on bikes though!

Let me tell you, I don't normally think of myself as a naive person but I'm beginning to wonder. I honest to God had no idea that Arizona had mountains. For about 3 hours I had my jaw and the floor and was wiping up my drool. I was in Awe. They were different than mountains I have seen before. Still in the desert yet full of greenery and cactus. So strange to me yet so beautiful!

Here's some pretty mountains shots as we are driving with a gorgeous cloudy sky also!!! I love how the clouds are right on top of the peaks!

Finally we are at my favorite moment! The moment of the waving cactus I have been "not" so patiently waiting for! I call them waving cactus cause it seem like their arms are calling you over to say hi, doesn't it? Here's another moment where everyone feared some giant scorpion would attack me if I got of the car, but I was a fierce warrior on a mission to see her waving cactus and fear was not going to hold me back. Remember the map paper yesterday that had the park and my hometown on it. Well the green strips I used on here is the border from that page. I also love this border cause it shows my bestie's hometown Alhambra/Pasadena. So amazing! I am loving Amy Tan's line so much!!!

Stay tuned for the rest of my trip layouts!
