Weekend re-cap and scrapping

This weekend was good and full. Friday I had a half day and Valdo and I got alot of stuff done. Saturday he had to work so I was up and 5am and instead of going back to sleep I thought I might clean. Wow. I did alot. I washed 5 loads of laundry cause I was washing bedding and Kona's bedding too. I cleaned under the stairs. I went through all my wedding stuff and decided what was going in the garage sale. I vacuumed the house top to bottom. Cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom. Organized Valdo's desk and my scrap table. Cleaned out my closet and took out a bunch of garbage. By the time I was done it was 10am and my mom was calling saying she was coming down for the day. So we hung out and Heidi came too. We shopped and ate and shopped and ate some more. Made a trip to archivers and then went to price RV's for my mom. It was a good day.The best part was when Valdo got done working he brought me home a new ceramic Donkey that even came in a donkey bag. He picked it up at the Mercado in St.Paul. I was so freaking happy, I made him a home right away on my dresser.
Heidi and I then spent the day scrapping Sunday and watching War Horse which was good. I was scrapping along with the challenges on Shimelle's blog. She had an amazing crafty weekend going on and you can still play along up till the end of this week. There's 16 challenges and so far I have 5 of them finished. But there was fun articles and questions to read posted between each challenge so I would go check it out asap.
Challenge one:
was to take inspiration from this layout by Jamie Warren.
Here's the layout I made for it. I used Valdo and some older paper I've been hoarding that Renee sent me.
You can find challenge on Shimelle's blog here.
Challenge two:
was to Mix papers. You had to use product from at least 3 different lines on your layout.
Here's the layout I made. I used Bazzill cardstock, older sheet from dcwv, a sheet from the new Neapolitan Dear lizzy line, and a sheet from the Rhonna Farrer Follow your heart line. My embellishments came from Neapolitan, some washi tape, the flowers and gems were from Recollections. The mist is Mr. Hueys. The alphas I used were thickers and the smaller alphas are Prima. This layout was fun for me and I love this photo of me and my sisters!
You can find challenge two on Shimelle's blog here.
Challenge three:
Was to mix up your style. Choose a scrapper's style different from your own and mix it up. I choose to use some of Christy Tomlinsons style. I loved her messy style of art and she always inspires me.
I inked in the new mask I got with a woodgrain pattern. Then I used my watercolors the make a border around the woodgrain. Christy is all about masking and painting and inking and getting messy. When my watercolors started to run and blur together I left it alone cause it's all part of the art as Christy says.

Challenge four:
Was to create a layout using yellow, grey and then another color of your choosing. I choose to use mint as my accent color.
I actually was lucky cause yellow and grey are not usually colors I would have on hand but the new lines I got for the wedding have those colors in them. I think this one is my favorite layout of the weekend.
You can find challenge four on Shimelle's blog here.
The last layout I made was just for fun and not for a challenge.
I like this picture of me in the sunlight in my dress from the morning of the wedding so much. It's One of my favorites of just me from that day.
And now my weekend is over and it's Monday morning and snowing. No Joke!!! Snowing!!! Yesterday there was tornado warning and severe storms and hail all over the metro area here. Now its snowing. Minnesota is so nuts lately. Serious. No snow all winter but sure in the middle of April it will be blizzard like conditions.
I plan to continue working on Shimelle's challenges this week, I hope you will join me in getting creative! Share links on your blog, I would love to see.
Happy Happy Monday!
