So we woke up early in the morning in our park in Utah. Early enough to see the mountains covered in the sunrise light.
We were going on an adventure this morning! An airboat ride down the Colorado River. I was super stoked about this and we knew right after meeting our tour guide Andrew that it was going to be a great 4 hours! He was funny and sarcastic and right away let us know that he didn't want the life jackets to get wet, so if we fell over board stand up right away and walk to the side of the river since it's only 2 feet deep. Lowest its been that he could remember.
We learned that if you have ever seen the Grand Canyon on TV, then you have seen this area. The Grand Canyon almost never lets anyone film there and if they do it costs big bucks, so most people film here in the canyon lands in Moab Utah.
This is the famous Dead Horse Point. The only way to reach it is by little skinny narrow road over a chunk of rock barely able to hold 2 vehicles at a time. This is where the opening scene of Mission Impossible 2 where Tom Cruise is climbing the side of a cliff was filmed.
This is the famous Thelma and Louise point. The exact spot where the ending scene of them driving off the cliff was filmed. They actually did throw 2 of those cars off the cliff just to make sure they had the take. Also if you look closely you will see some smoke on the point, they were actually filming another commercial up there this day.
On our way back we actually stopped on the beach and were able to get out and explore the rock and landscape some. Valdo was in a climbing mood and climbed super high on these ledges.
After the boat trip we hit the road again. Around lunch time we pulled into a wayside rest which turned out to be amazing! It's Hole in the wall! A real 5200sq. foot house built into the mountain, and not only that, they had a petting zoo!
This sweet camel liked to give kisses when you fed him!
Already the trip has been amazing! It was really great how much stuff we were able to see each day!!!!
