We still managed to make it to the Grand Canyon around 6pm for dinner in our campsite, even after the hole in the wall stop and our boat trip.
My first glimpse of the Grand Canyon.
Let me tell you, the whole ride in I was so scared! Seriously! I had the window up and the door locked and I was all sweaty and had clamy palms! ugh! I hate heights and this is about as high as it gets for me. I thought I was going to hyper ventilate. And the following day they made me walk out on a ledge, I clung to valdo the whole time and believe me its the fakest smile I have on my face, all I'm thinking is 2 steps behind me is nothing......
The Grand Canyon park is full of wildlife and we got our share of it also. These deer (mule deer) were everywhere! I thought they were so cute! Different than the whitetails we have here at home and not nearly as skittish either!
Here they just wander right through the campgrounds, the people didn't make them nervous at all, the only thing that seemed to bother them is the dogs that some people had with them.
And then as if seeing the deer is not thrill enough we saw these next. I was brushing my teeth, when my mom saw two huge butts walk by, she knew they were too tall to be deer so we ran over and sure enough they were not deer....
And then the deer again! It was soooooooooooooo amazing to stand this close to these huge animals in the "wild"! Seriously! They dwarf the deer in size. If you have never seen an elk, they are as big or bigger than a horse and their antlers are 3 feet or longer. They are massive! I think I will take this moment with me from the Grand Canyon, cause its sure beats the scary stuff!
When we left the Grand Canyon we were headed to OATMAN!!! (So excited for Oatman) but on the way we stopped at one of those drive through wildlife parks. It was kinda hard to see alot of the animals so here's just a couple...
Look at those paws under that big bear butt! SO cute!!
Next stop Oatman AZ!!!!
