I thought I would share 12 things I am thankful for today. Granted there are far more than 12 but I wanted to stay with the theme ya know... So here we go:
Valdo: I am so thankful to have him in my life and as my husband and friend. My life would surely be different if it weren't for him and I'm not sure it would be for the better. I love him deeply and cannot wait to celebrate 8 years together in February. I am thankful for all the joy he has brought to me and to be a little family of our own. Its amazing!
Friends: I have the most amazing friends! They are always there for me and always willing to listen and offer advice and to tell me to shut up when I'm over reacting. I honestly don't know if my life would be as it is now without them. On more than one occasion I have received advice and encouragement which determined a course I would take in my life. An action I might not have choose otherwise and for that I will always be grateful. It's not everyday you meet and hang on to such wonderful people. So often as we get older, life changes and friends slip away. So to now have made these friends as an adult and in the spot I am in right now, I know these friendships are forever!
Family: Another blessing! I have a large family and loud and fun! I love them all so dearly. Family is so important to me. If you know me you already know this. It's on the top of my priority list always. I'm lucky to have such a young family also, my grandparents are only in their 60's, and one is 75. I have so many many more years yet with them to cherish and cherish them I do, every moment with them! Also all of my brothers and sister and my parents, I don't know what life would be like without them. They all do so much for me and are always there when I need them with a laugh or a shoulder to cry on or an adventure. I can't imagine having any other family, we were meant exactly to be with each other I think!
Kona: Sweet baby Kona. The joy you have brought into our lives is unimaginable. Your sweet smiling face and wagging tail, always greeting us with puppy kisses. Having kids of our own has been difficult but you sweet girl ease that pain a bit everyday! I love you to the moon and back!
Monies: I'm not rich by any means. Sometimes we are even pay check to pay check. But I am thankful that this year we have some funds and are able to buy a little something for everyone on our list.
Work: I'm thankful that we both still have our jobs this year with so many companies downsizing and re grouping. We are lucky to be in the spot we are in.
For the good fortune of others: I'm so pleased that 3 people close to me were able to buy houses these last couple months. their good fortune makes me so happy I can hardly stand it! I love seeing people I love in good places and they all deserved it!
Our car: Yes our beloved suburban bit the dust the dust this year and I was less than thrilled with the car we got, but still I am happy and lucky to have a car that is working to get us from a to b.
For adventure: The last 2 years I have gone on many many road trips, some small and around home and some half way across the country. I was brought up traveling. I had been in over 30 states before I was 10 and lived in a few also. So Minnesota will always be home but the chance to travel is something I will always be thankful for!
Home: We may not have the most beautiful home, or the cleanest, or largest, but it's ours. I love that we are still close to the woods and Kona has room to run. I love that I have my own little spot to work and play in the house. I love that its a hodge podge of all our personalities!
Camera (Lupita): I so thankful for my new camera I got this year. We became fast friends and already have been on many adventures together. She allows me to take such beautiful photos like this one of the resting goose.
Hobbies: My hobbies are such a source of joy to me! I'm thankful for all the opportunities they have provided me such as this blog and meeting my bestie and so many more!
So there's just 12 things I am grateful for today! I also want to take a moment to congratulate my friends Mandi and Adam who are in Vegas right now tying the knot on this magical day!!!
Happy 12-12-12 everyone!
