Ahh isn't it so fabulous when your in the creative zone, when everything is just flowing and working for you?! That's how I was feeling making this layout. So good in fact that I wasn't watching the clock and it was midnight before I knew it, way past my bedtime! But honestly I didn't really mind cause I had such a good time making this layout and I love how it turned out! Plus it made me feel good to use some of my pretty supplies I always think I can't use cause they are so special. Hmph. I need to stop that immediately. Whats the point in having stuff if I'm not going to use it. Hence my big purge. Now I have less stuff to work with so hopefully I will use it all! So here is the lovely layout I created called Oceans Oceans.
Products: Papers; by Studio Calico and American crafts, Embellishments; Cork, wood veneer, canvas cameras, mist, stickers by Studio Calico, Wood polaroid frames by Freckled fawn, Misc washi tape, Thickers and glitter tape by American Crafts.
I knew I wanted the 3 frames on a vertical line but at first was going to just run them down on the background paper. I then got the idea to stick to a kinda monochromatic-ish scheme and add in lots of pattern paper underneath the photos. I say monochromatic-ish because with in each of the 3 colors I choose I stayed monochromatic using different shades of each of those 3 colors which were kraft, grey and mint (light aqua). I love how the colors meshed and those are the colors to me that really represent the ocean. This part of the Ocean especially in my opinion. I had previously stocked up on alot of nautical themed things so I was excited to finally work some of those onto a page. The anchors on the cork pieces and wood veneers and also the pp under the quote is mint with anchors. It's too cute and I'm actually sad so much of it got covered up. The frames were super fun to work with and I am going to seriously need more of these beauties! I simply taped the photos in then back the words with some scraps of paper so they were easier to read! Thanks for checking out my Oceans layout made with instagram photos from my trip.
I'll leave you with the quote I put on the page. I love it and its impact on me right now.
"Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, So must I never live my life for itself but always in the experience which is going on around me."
I need to be more in the moment in life, but that's a topic for another day....
